Day 100.
Happy Father’s Day.
It’s currently 92° and feels like 96°. I spent maybe 10 minutes outdoors with a mask on and it was unbearably hot.
Those visiting Orlando theme parks this summer are in for a real treat. 😷

A hapless UN employee discovers that the agency he works for is hiding a gateway to a parallel dimension that’s in a cold war with our own, and where his other self is a top spy. The war slowly heats up thanks to spies from both sides.
After repeated mentions by Jason Snell on the podcast Tim Goodman’s TV Talk Machine, I finally watched Counterpart. The show originally aired on Starz and is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
The show can be a bit confusing to follow at times, so I’d limit multitasking as much as possible. Without spoiling anything, there’s not much else I can say other than the show is so good that I wish it had been picked up for a third season.
In a future where a failed climate-change experiment has killed all life except for the lucky few who boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, a new class system emerges.
An absolutely extraordinary film.
I’m not sure how I missed this when it was released in 2013. In fact, I didn’t know the film existed until a few months ago when I heard that a television series named Snowpiercer was coming to TNT. When I further researched the show, I learned it was based on a film, which itself is based on a French graphic novel.
If you’re a fan of dystopian science fiction, actor Chris Evans, or director Bong Joon Ho (Parasite), I highly recommend watching the film. It’s currently streaming on Netflix.
Social distancing day 80.
I’ve left my 900 ft2 apartment three times in the past 11+ weeks. The only face-to-face-ish interaction I’ve had in that time was with a pharmacist at my local pharmacy’s drive-up window.
